The Sindh government on Wednesday chose to reimpose Covid limitations with indoor feasting and schools set to close again because of a resurgence in Covid-19 cases in the province.
The choice was taken in a meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Coronavirus directed by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The restriction on indoor feasting would start from tomorrow (July 15) night.
With respect to schools, classes for grades 1-8 would be suspended from Saturday while examinations will be held according to plan for grades 9 or more.
Closures from July 15 (Thursday):
- Indoor dining
- Public transport to operate with 50 per cent occupancy
Closures from July 16 (Friday):
- Indoor gyms and indoor sports activities
- Amusement parks, theme parks, water parks and swimming pools
Closures from July 17 (Saturday):
- Schools for grades 1-8
- Cinemas will also close down from tomorrow.
- Amusement parks, water parks, theme parks and swimming pools are set to close from Friday along with indoor gyms and indoor sports activities.
The notification by the Sindh Home department added that there would be a “complete ban” on inland tourism such as visiting Sea View, Hawkesbury, and Keenjhar lake. It added that the restrictions would be enforced till July 31.
