The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has proposed that schools and other educational establishments should go on summer break from July 18 onwards. The NCOC has suggested that schools should go on summer break from July 18 to August 1. Notwithstanding, the Punjab government has gone against the idea and all things considered, recommended that schools go on summer break from July 2 to August 2.
An official choice on the matter will be taken by the Inter-Provincial Education Conference (IPEC) headed by Education Shafqat Mehmood. According to the report, a meeting of the IPEC will be called soon to take the choice.
In May, the Punjab government had reported that schools across the province will notice abbreviated summer getaways under another scholastic arrangement pondered by the provincial government, in the midst of the third COVID-19 wave.
Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas had said students have endured a great deal due to the Covid pandemic consequently the mid-year getaways in schools may be for a length of half a month.
